Course Description
This digital course, called AI and Information Literacy, will guide you through learning more about Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) tools and strategies for evaluating if and how to use them responsibly in your academic work. By the end of this course, you’ll have a deeper understanding of how these tools work, ways to fact-check and cite them, and some potential strategies for using them creatively.

- Explain generally how AI-based tools work as well as their benefits and risks
- Recognize when AI gives inaccurate or misleading answers, and fact-check AI output

Expectations
This digital course consists of 4 lessons, which altogether should take approximately 1-2 hours to complete. Additional resources or tips for further exploration are provided at the end of each lesson. Two lessons culminate in a knowledge check to confirm what you have learned and to enable you to move on to the next lesson.
